Demo Reel Winter 2014
I am 18 year old sophomore at SCAD and this my first demo reel that I have put together. This includes few of my works from past 5 months.1. Mughal TeapotThis scene is represented by Pixar's RenderMan scene description RIB file. Manually writing RIB files focuses attention on the way that «elements» such as color, opacity, shading, lighting and coordinate systems are presented to Pixar's PhotoRealistic RenderMan rendering system.Software used: text editor, IT, txmake2. Match To LifeThe base photograph of the cup was taken and then fake cup was created in Maya aiming to «match to life». Softwares Used: Maya, Nuke, Mari, Photoshop, Mental Ray3. Door VariationThis is a low polygon door, aiming to get detailed textures through use of normal maps, diffuse and specular. Whole object is a single blinn shader. Software used: Marmoset Toolbag, Photoshop, Maya, Mental Ray4. Jack In The BoxThis is my first Renderman project, theme is «All That Glitters Is Not Gold». Ptex was used for shading, fur description was optimized and archived for quicker render times. The house model is by Jermy Vickery from PIXAR. Softwares Used: Maya, Renderman, Photoshop, Mudbox, Mari5. Image Transation ToolThis tool lets user select images and then sets up particles that derive color attributes from the selected images per vertex. A bunch of key frames and fields are set to give the effect. 6. Juice VendorThis is a Turkish Cherry Juice Vendor, sculpted in Zbrush. It is a work in progress.7. Curve GenerationI wrote a MEL script that generates curves based on vertices, marquee select vertices and see a curve build around the object.Software Used: Maya8. SculptureThis sculpture was created entirely using glue and paper. Lots of cutting and fun.9. Anip«Añip, a world beyond our universe full of beauty and nature and has become a great home to creatures who inhabited it last year. This world relies on nature in order to survive and even though they have been evolving from a much shorter time period compared to human race they have discovered many pandoras of nature including lights, boats, and are intelligent enough to utilize natural resources to form useful products.10. East v/s WestThe painting demystifies the clash of the cultures between the east and the west. Two persons, from opposite cultural backgrounds are in a clash (chess). The clash is the result of the rules created for them by their culture. They are forced into a world of subjective truth. Both of these cultures are human constructions and not a natural phenomenon. Once understood can bring peace (Yin Yang).11. MaikocraThe Maikocra, a monkey-like creature, is one of these mysterious creatures that live in Añip. They like to live in a secret place and away from other populations of Añip and they also stick together as one huge colony. They all live in the same home namely gaddha, which is a huge tunnel, dug within the Añip, its surrounded by many exotic trees and plants which gives a wild yet beautiful look. Maikocra, have developed the art of iron smelting and blacksmithing to make protective armors.12. BluesThis is a digital painting I did for my friend in my hometown. He is a huge fan of John Mayer and wanted me to make a portrait for him as a Birthday Present.13. Harmony of WaterThis is a miniature watercolor painting, it is originally 2 inch x 3 inch in size. Each panel is painted with a different color harmony yet maintaining balance withing the picture.14. LIMEThese are the color scripts I did for a senior film called lime. The mood was really hot and humid as they were on pirate ship for long time and striving for food.15. Custom ShaderI wrote a custom shader that takes texture based on primary variables. Also different utilities were made to give a smooth step between various textures. The last is the thin film interference shader which I am currently working on. Its a custom renderman shader and I am trying to make it physically plausible. Please see the link below for breakdown. Visit this website for breakdowns.
