How will the Tucson region be affected by climate change? What are you most concerned about? Over 125 people, in-person and via our go-to meeting portal, heard from the experts and got some answers. The newly released Assessment of Climate Change in the Southwest United States (published by Island Press) is the most comprehensive synthesis ever of regional climate change, projected impacts, and solutions for society. This event, coinciding with the release of the book, opened the door to a storehouse of information about how the greatest challenge to the Southwest’s water and natural resources will affect Tucson and the vast region stretching from Colorado and New Mexico to the Pacific. Local and regional experts—a few of the hundreds of authors of the book—provided a brief overview of key findings from the Assessment.
