EMTV News on the Gabadi Pilot Hybrid Rice Project by Koren Maso from the Village Garden. Papua New Guinea is so rich with very fertile soil for organic farming. Despite its composition of rice soil for agriculture and farming, the country is more focused on non-renewable resources such as gold, copper, nickel, oil and gas and give less attention to agricultural investments which entire country has the enormous skills and knowledge massive land area. Over the last 40 years, PNG continues to import most agricultural commodities from Australia including Rice. Over the last 40 years, Rice being the most widely consumed food item imported from Australia despite its high fertile soil. PNG Government never focus on rice but focus more on minerals until Village Garden explored into pilot rice commercial project at Gabadi in Central Province. The results from the pilot project proved that PNG has the best soil, climate, water and disaster free atmosphere in the world to produce the best organic high grade long grain rice. 2017 will be the year in which this commercial rice project will be rolled out by Koren Maso and his team of expects from Philippines, Australia, Malaysia, Korea and Indonesia.
