At Sea Level, Caribbean fisherfolk and the future of the sea
Fisherfolk make an enormous difference in the success of marine conservation efforts in the Caribbean. This 10 minute clip introduces us to passionate, committed fisher leaders from all over the region. In their own words, they highlight their role and the necessity of working together to preserve our natural resources.Supporting these fishers is the path forward for successful marine conservation to benefit the fish, the fishers and all of us who depend on the sea for our lives whether we know it or not. At Sea Level is available to fishers, fisherfolk organizations and their supporters as well as television stations, nonprofits and educational institutions throughout the Caribbean and the United States to raise awareness and support for fisher led conservation. A feature length version of the film is in development. Many thanks to GCFI, all the fishers who appear in the film and the many other participants and supporters including Will Heyman and his team at Texas A&M University and James Schwartz of Bus 9 Productions.
