The Resilience in the Limpopo River Basin (RESILIM) Program, in partnership with Kwalata and ScienceUnlimited, hosted the Science for Resilience Expo at the Kwalata Game Reserve in Hammanskraal from 12 – 14 May 2015.Over 1800 pupils and their teachers and 200 representatives from NGOs from across Gauteng and Mpumalanga learned more about climate change science, natural sciences and various climate change adaptation practices at the Science for Resilience Expo. Pupils enjoyed workshops, theatre, illustrated talks and interactive exhibitions by experts from more than twenty universities, science bodies, conservation organisations, companies and government departments on Earth Science, Life Sciences, Healthy, Responsible and Green Living, and Career Guidance. The Expo delivered on it promise of broadening the horizons of pupils’ understanding of the impacts of climate change on their natural environment, water resources and their livelihoods, and the opportunities for a more resilient future.
