Only italian wines and gastronomy from small producers. Warm atmosphere and good mood at sunset time.Hi everybody,My name is Camilla Troiani. I'm 28 years old. I was born in Rome and i grew up in a nice neighborhood close to downtown. I am a passionate person. I have many interests, such as photography, botany (I take care of some plants on the small terrace of my room). I love reading news articles and books of all kinds. Four years ago I majored in International Relations with honors but after working in a press office for a year, I felt deeply bored. Sitting behind a desk was not for me. So I saved some money and I traveled a few months trying to figure out what job I would have liked to do in the fleeting life that I have available. I liked travelling but it didn't help me to find out.Instead, the revolutionary experience, after my return in Rome, was to work in a large old winebar in the heart of Rome. I worked there for three years and every day I met, I served and i menaged customers and travelers from all over the world: Americans (from every corner of the United States), English, Russians, Germans, Japanese, French, New Zealanders, South Africans, Turks. I fell in love with the world of catering, with the rich tradition of Italian wine and food, and I realized that the contact with the people nourished my spirit more than anything else. Then i saved other money and i took a course in american bartendering and one corse as sommelier and i decided to learn as much as possible from my colleagues who had more experience than me (some of them had twenty years of experience in this job!).When my fixed-term contract has expired I started to want to open a winebar that would go on the dream that I had lived, that could even improve it.With the financial help of my father, I was able to rent a empty-shop of 60 square meters in Piazza Massa Carrara 5 in Rome, and now, step by step, I'm looking for the money to create the wine cellar of my dreams. The place has so much potential: it has three large windows, it' is bright and before it housed a clothing store. It is located on a square, where there are some rides for the kids, few big plane trees and benches, in front of a large church. For forniture, wine and food, I wanto to use only products made in Italy to help revive the Italian economy in crisis and to enhance the Italian products. I want to sell wines, cheeses and cured meats from small traditional producers and not go to the big chains of distribution. Even the tiles that will decore the bar, I want them to be handmade by artisans of Messina in Sicily.I would like to create a warm and 'at home' atmosphere, informal but also internationally to spread the Italian gastronomic heritage to tourists, foreign students and Italians. The name of my wine bar will be Vesper, which means West in Latin and Twilight in Italian. I chose the name with Marco, a childhood friend.Vesper is the time when the fishermen return from the sea, when the sky is indigo, when the melancholy melts with a good glass of wine and when you meet your loved ones at the end of the day.I am working, I struggle between the heavy italian bureaucracy, i'm calculating the bussiness plan and taxes (very high even for a start-up), I opened a tax position as a sole proprietorship.I'm reading books and blogs of Italian cuisine and Italian street food. With few resources at my disposal, I attend wine tastings for small wineries and take their contacts, i write and rewrite the menu and the list of hams and cheeses DOCG (Controlled and Guaranteed Origin).I'm trying to retrieve tables and stools in the ancient Roman shops, flea markets, ebay…Among my interests there is also video editing, so I proceeded alone to shoot the video presentation that you can see at the top and I'm preparing by myself the graphic of logo, flyers and menu.So far my team consists of: me, my father, my brother, two former colleagues and good friends who help me in making decisions. Later I wish I could take one or two young waiters. To achieve my dream I need a capital far exceeds my ability.Today, in Italy, for a young worker life is difficult. The rent of rooms in Rome are very high and often make up more than half of a paycheck. In this situation it is practically impossible to give life to a small business project. The only way is to ask for a loan at the bank with the name of your parents to garantee. This is why I'm trying the crowdfunding. One day, it would be great to offer a plate of ham and a good glass of «Chardonnay delle Langhe Massolino» to anyone helped me in this project with a great little gift.If I close my eyes I can see my wine bar!Thank you all for your attention,I wait for you at VesperCamilla
