Girl Rosenberg, in his own words
Years before the word migrant started to be familiar in this area in the late 80’s, Gil Rosenberg was already providing help, food, resources and advocating for a new group of workers that eventually would change the face of Kentucky: Latinos.Last Saturday May 5, Gil Rosenberg, a long-time advocate for migrant workers and immigrants rights died in a car accident on Interstate 75 in Fayette County. Rosenberg, was the first stone of what today the Latino community calls Latino community. His brilliant idea to form the Migrant Network Coalition in 1996, led to the development of an active network of advocates, activists and social service providers seriously involved with the Latino community. His contribution to the migrant families and immigrants in general is immeasurable. Here an interview in 2010.
