HD Beyond The Rim - A Monument For All
TAKE ACTION to support mountain biking at the Grand Canyon: A “mountain bike friendly” National Monument designation by the President on the North and South Rim of the Grand Canyon will preserve access for mountain biking on more than 128 miles of the Arizona National Scenic Trail and the Rainbow Rim trail system, and ensure that opportunities to expand the Rainbow Rim trail for sustainable recreation are preserved. IMBA, local volunteers and the U.S. Forest Service hold annual workdays at the Rainbow Rim trail on the Grand Canyon’s North Rim. A national monument designation can ensure that the recreational investments and assets are protected along with the natural resources, so that the public may continue to enjoy this area largely in the manner that they enjoy it today. Specific provisions in the designation can protect and highlight mountain biking as a sustainable recreation opportunity.
