Dan Hendrix, the former CEO and CFO of one of the world’s most sustainable companies, was inducted into an elite group of business college alumnae, one of three this year, in 2018. Hendrix is a native of Fort Pierce, Florida and lives in Atlanta and Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. For years, KPKinteractive has created videos for Dan and he’s one of our favorite people, so we were honored to help tell his story for the awards night induction gala.In high school, Dan excelled in four sports and went on to coach during his college years. After initially choosing PhysEd as his major, he followed his Dad’s advice and became an accounting and tax major at Florida State University. An honors graduate, Dan leaped immediately into a fast-moving career in accounting and ultimately helped take Interface public with global locations for both manufacturing and sales, after starting from 13 acres and a plant in LaGrange, Georgia.Today, Interface is one of the greenest manufacturing companies in the world. Dan’s leadership, which he largely credits to athletics, diversity and social skills he learned at FSU, propelled the company from its founder’s mid-1990s idea of becoming a carpet tile company that could end its dependence on oil to a current-day, highly-respected company winning awards for its transformation of its manufacturing processes, as well as its contemporary and nature-based designs.Dan loves spending time with his family and friends, watching FSU football games in the box he shares with a fraternity brother, and mentoring young people toward the careers of their dreams.Watch this video to hear Dan’s story. We hope you’ll agree he’s a helluva guy. Keywords: Dan Hendrix, Interface, carpet tile, green manufacturing, sustainable company, sustainable manufacturing, Chairman of the Board, CEO, FLOR, Interface FLOR, carpet squares, zero-waste manufacturing, green company, FSU football, Florida State University, Accounting major, mentoring, athlete
